Ryan Reynolds Workout Routine

Ryan Reynolds is in amazing shape. The husband of Scarlett Johannson really got lean for his roles in Blade Trinity and Wolverine Origins. With his upcoming Deadpool movie, Reynolds is sure to look great again. Below is Ryan Reynolds workout routine for each movie.

Ryan Reynolds Workout for Blade
For Blade Trinity, Ryan Reynolds reduced his body fat from 10% to 5% while adding 20lbs of muscle. However, to do so, he had to exercise 2-3 hours each day, six days a week. His routine was split by muscle group: chest, shoulders, back, legs, and arms mixed in randomly. He did 8-12 reps and trained his muscles to failure. He also performed an ab routine. He started his workouts with situps and did a lot of leg raises with weights to work his lower abs.

For Wolverine Origins, Ryan Reynolds needed to add muscle mass. Since he had slimmed down a bit after Blade Trinity, he implemented a 2 phase approach. For the first phase, he once again trained his muscles to failure using 6-12 reps per exercise with different muscle groups trained on different days. For the second phase, he trained with heavier weights, only doing 3-5 reps. He also did bodyweight exercises for strength.
